For motorcycling enthusiasts in Telangana, the stretch between Hyderabad and Warangal along National Highway 163 has become one of the most popular weekend riding routes. Known for its smooth roads, open stretches, and easy access from the city, the highway offers the perfect escape for riders looking for a refreshing early-morning ride.
A Favourite Weekend Route for Bikers
Every weekend, especially on Sunday mornings, groups of bikers gather near Uppal and begin their ride towards Warangal. As the ride moves past the city limits, the traffic thins and the scenery changes to farmland, lakes, and small Telangana towns.
The relatively straight and well-maintained road makes it ideal for relaxed cruising. The cool morning breeze and sunrise views create a peaceful atmosphere, giving riders a break from Hyderabad’s busy urban life.
Popular Breakfast Stops on the Highway
What makes this route even more attractive is the large number of restaurants and tiffin centres along the highway. These eateries have become regular meeting points for bikers and travellers.
One of the well-known stops for breakfast lovers is Minerva Coffee Shop. Famous for its South Indian vegetarian cuisine and iconic filter coffee, the restaurant has built a strong reputation among food lovers for decades. Since its early years, it has been known for serving classic dishes such as idli, dosa, vada, and hearty vegetarian meals throughout the day.
Another popular stop for riders heading towards Warangal is Taaza Tiffins. Known for its authentic South Indian breakfast items, the restaurant serves favourites like idly, dosa, poori, Mysore bajji, and pesarattu, usually accompanied by a variety of chutneys and fresh juices.
For many bikers, stopping at these breakfast spots is an essential part of the ride. Riders often park their motorcycles outside, enjoy hot coffee or a plate of dosa, and exchange stories about routes, bikes, and travel plans.
Scenic Countryside and Relaxed Riding
The route passes through towns such as Ghatkesar, Bibinagar, and Jangaon, offering glimpses of rural Telangana. Early mornings are the best time to ride, when the temperature is cooler and the highway is relatively free of heavy traffic.
The long stretches of open road combined with scenic surroundings make the ride both relaxing and enjoyable.
More Than Just a Highway
Over the years, the Hyderabad–Warangal highway has become more than just a transport corridor. It has evolved into a social space for riders, road-trip enthusiasts, and food lovers. The availability of good breakfast joints, comfortable cafés, and scenic riding conditions has earned it a reputation among motorcycling communities as a “biker’s paradise.”
The Perfect Weekend Escape
For many riders in Hyderabad, the routine is simple: start early in the morning, ride 60–80 kilometres on the highway, stop at a popular breakfast spot like Minerva Coffee Shop or Taaza Tiffins, and return to the city before noon.
With smooth roads, beautiful countryside views, and delicious breakfast stops along the way, the Hyderabad–Warangal highway continues to be one of the most enjoyable weekend riding routes in Telangana.
