Project Hail Mary is a science fiction film adapted from the novel by the same name Project Hail Mary, written by American author Andy Weir. The book follows school teacher turned astronaut Ryland Grace as he tries to save humanity.
Coming to the film story Ryland Grace awakens from an induced coma on an interstellar spacecraft. Initially erratic with retrograde amnesia, Grace discovers that he is the sole survivor of the three-person crew on board, and that he is light-years away from Earth in a distant solar system.
Grace slowly remembers that he is an American middle-school science teacher and former molecular biologist selected for this mission by NASA to save planet Earth.
NASA scientists discover the Sun dimming caused by microorganism known as astrophage which threatens human existence on earth.
Project Hail Mary is an International project of sending spacecraft to star Tau Ceti to get the antidote for astrophage with Grace and other crew onboard.
As Grace spacecraft approaches Tau Ceti , Grace meets alien Rocky from the other planet Eridani.
The rest of the story is how Grace and the alien Rocky save planet Earth and planet Eridani by preventing dimming stars by using the same mechanism of star Tau Ceti.
Ryland Grace performed exceptionally well as a school teacher and later on a mission on spacecraft to save planet Earth.The drama,fun, camaraderie between Grace and Alien Rocky is awesome, especially the camaraderie emotion,the bond worked out well.
Production values are top notch, the film should be watched for experience of space travel, drama, action, emotion during space sojourn.It’s a must watch film for youth, families and science fiction movie lovers.
