Renowned producer K.S. Rama Rao, head of the prestigious banner Creative Commercials, is bringing the Kannada blockbuster ‘Rakshasapura’ to the Telugu audience. Directed by Dr. Ravi and starring the versatile Raj B. Shetty, the film is officially titled ‘Rakshasapuram’ in Telugu and is scheduled for a grand release on May 1st.

This is a magnificent murder mystery thriller. After watching the Kannada version, I was deeply impressed by the filmmaking, high production values, and the intense suspense elements. I felt it was a story that must be brought to the Telugu audience. Raj B. Shetty has delivered a stellar performance in the role of a police inspector.

The producer addressed the current state of the film industry and explained the strategy behind the release date
Holiday Advantage: The film will hit theaters on May 1st (May Day). Being a public holiday, the team believes it will be more accessible to workers and families.
The IPL Factor: Acknowledging the ongoing IPL season, Rao has requested distributors to prioritize Morning and Matinee shows to ensure the film reaches audiences before the cricket matches begin in the evening.
Industry Sentiment: He expressed concern over the “tough times” the film industry is facing due to the combined impact of the IPL and stiff competition from OTT platforms. However, he remains confident that strong, content-driven films like ‘Rakshasapuram’ will inevitably draw audiences back to the theaters.
