Stories revolving around marital relationships—husband-wife conflicts, playful quarrels, and domestic drama—have always struck a chord with audiences and never feel outdated.
Keeping in tune with contemporary sensibilities, the upcoming film Purushaha explores the bond between husband and wife from multiple perspectives. Presented by Battula Saraswathi, the film is produced by Battula Koteswara Rao under the Kalyan Productions banner and directed by Veeru Vulavala. This movie marks the debut of Pavan Kalyan Battula as a hero. The makers have successfully generated strong curiosity with just posters and first-look reveals, and the recently released teaser left audiences in splits with its humor.
Taking the narrative a step further, the makers have unveiled the film’s standout theme number, “Jaali Padedhevvadu… Magadi Meeda Jaali Padedhevvadu,” which serves as a musical mirror to the story’s core emotion. The song approaches the subject with sharp humor and subtle irony, portraying the often-overlooked vulnerabilities of men in marital relationships. What truly makes the track special is the soulful rendition by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, whose magical voice adds depth, empathy, and an almost conversational warmth to the song. His vocals effortlessly balance satire and emotion, ensuring the song lingers long after it ends.
Composer Shravan Bharadwaj complements this with a tune that is deceptively simple yet highly effective, allowing the lyrics and vocals to take center stage. Anantha Sriram’s lyrics are the real conversation-starters- clever, observant, and layered with meaning. With a humorous undertone, the words gently dissect the dynamics of marriage, painting a vivid picture of expectations, frustrations, and emotional negotiations between husband and wife, all while advancing the story without revealing too much.
The film’s technical team includes Satish Muthyala as the cinematographer, Koti as the editor, and Ravibabu Dondapati as the art director. Post-production work is currently progressing at a brisk pace, and the makers are expected to announce the release date very soon.
