The Telangana government is inviting applications for the prestigious Gaddar Telangana Film Awards. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the finalized guidelines. Applications can be submitted starting from March 13th.
Replacing the Nandi Awards, the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards will now be presented annually in Telangana.
While there might be a slight adjustment to the award ceremony date this year, it’s decided to hold it on Ugadi from next year onwards. Since the previous government didn’t give film awards since 2013, those will also be considered, with one award given to the best film of each year.
For 2024, Gaddar Awards will be presented to best feature films, children’s films, national integration films, environmental films, historical heritage films, and other categories, along with individual awards for actors and technical experts.
To encourage young talent, awards and cash prizes will also be given in the categories of debut feature film, social effect film, documentary film, short film, and animation film.
Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju stated that awards will also be given to film journalists who write books and analytical articles on Telugu cinema.
