Hey Bhagavan” will make you laugh… and touch your heart: Successful producer Vamsi Nandipati

The successful duo Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati, who recently delivered blockbuster films like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambhai, and Isha, are now bringing a full-length, out-and-out entertainer titled “Hey Bhagavan” under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vasu Works. The film stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanthi in key roles. Directed by Gopi Achara, the film is produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner. The movie is set to release on February 20.

In this context, producer Vamsi Nandipati interacted with the media on Thursday. Here are the highlights.

What kind of film is “Hey Bhagavan”?

“Hey Bhagavan” is an entertainment film. I have been involved in this project from the story level and I am also presenting it. The core point of the film has fun. There is also a business element in the movie. That element helps a son understand his father. The film has both fun and emotion. It will make everyone laugh out loud and also touch their hearts.

Why did you highlight the business element in the trailer and teaser?

We added it to create curiosity and buzz. However, no one has been able to guess what that business actually is.

What is the justification for the title “Hey Bhagavan”?

The father character’s name in the film is Bhagavan, so we titled it “Hey Bhagavan.” However, due to recent censorship objections, there is a chance the title might change. They say it is a sensitive title. Similar titles existed earlier, but now they are objecting. Discussions are ongoing with the censor board. It may change to “Hey Bhavan.”

How will this film help Suhas’ career?

The commercial success Suhas has been waiting for over the past few years will come with this film. It will definitely become the biggest commercial hit in his career and a milestone film for him.

You also have films with Satyadev and Srivishnu.
After completing films, you are releasing them with good buzz. Whatever you touch turns to gold.

What is your strategy as a producer?
More than a producer, “creative strategist” is the right word. I personally oversee everything. If the director feels something needs improvement, I give suggestions. Changes are made only if they agree. I believe if the director is happy, the film will be good. Everything happens with their approval.

How do directors get convinced about your suggested changes?

Creative freedom belongs to the directors. If we explain convincingly, they agree. It may also be because of our past successes. But directors must be given complete freedom. Only if the content is strong can we do anything.

Has the production of small films reduced now?

After Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambhai, small films actually increased. Recently, in just one month, around 300 film titles were registered in the chamber. There is clarity now that OTT business alone is not working. However, films made only for OTT are also increasing.

Will you direct films in the future?

No, I won’t direct. My goal is to produce good films as a producer.

Your association with Bunny Vasu?

Bunny Vasu is like a brother to me. We have been traveling together from the beginning. If he approves something, it’s as good as my approval. Our opinions are usually the same.
