In the Diwali blockbuster film K-Ramp, starring successful hero Kiran Abbavaram, the song Idemitamma Maaya Maaya Maikam Kamminda from the movie Aayudham, which starred Rajasekhar, was used. This song played during the hero’s introduction sequence and quickly went viral on social media. Many people made reels and shorts using this song’s beat, making it a part of K-Ramp’s success as well. The film The Girlfriend, starring National Crush Rashmika Mandanna and talented actor Dheekshith Shetty, was released recently to great success. Both youth and family audiences have embraced the film warmly. Produced under the prestigious banners of Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, the film was presented by Allu Aravind and directed by Rahul Ravindran. Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppinedi served as producers. Following the film’s success, Anu Emmanuel shared her experience of portraying the character Durga.

“For The Girlfriend, I first got a call from producer Dheeraj. Later, I met director Rahul, who narrated the script. After listening to the story and my character, I immediately felt that I had to be part of this film. It conveys a meaningful message about women. Working on this movie gave me great creative satisfaction. Since it’s a Geetha Arts production, I knew the project would be handled with care. I’m happy about the response the film is receiving. However, I never do a movie with the expectation of getting praise or acclaim.

I’ve worked with star heroes in both Telugu and Tamil – Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Nani, Naga Chaitanya, Sivakarthikeyan, Karthi, Vishal, and others. But looking back, I do regret doing a few films. Acting in some commercial movies didn’t give me any artistic satisfaction. In those films, I’d just dance a few steps and deliver some routine dialogues. I didn’t realize it then, but now I’ve decided not to take up such roles anymore. I did The Girlfriend for my own satisfaction and to learn something new as an actress.

I played Durga in the film. During the first half, I was a bit anxious about how the audience would receive my character. But I was happy with the way director Rahul shaped it. He’s a very sensitive filmmaker. He didn’t just guide me – he guided every actor in the film with equal care. In commercial movies, we’re often asked to overact, but while performing Durga, I initially gave exaggerated expressions. Rahul told me to tone it down and act as naturally as possible. That approach helped me bring authenticity to the role. I dubbed for my character myself, and Rahul asked me to speak with an American accent, which made Durga’s portrayal even more natural on screen. I watched the movie in the theater, and I was thrilled when audiences clapped for some of my scenes.

By the time I came on board, Rashmika had already been cast as Bhooma. I never wanted to play Bhooma’s role. In Hollywood, movies don’t categorize characters as hero, heroine, or villain – every character contributes to the story. Rahul followed a similar approach in The Girlfriend, ensuring that every role had meaning and justification. To become someone like Durga, one must first go through what Bhooma goes through. No one is born with Durga’s courage – it comes after facing misunderstanding and suffocation from parents, friends, or society. Even men experience this kind of struggle.

Career-wise, I still feel a bit unsatisfied, but as an actor, I’m content. I’ve worked with many big stars, but I’ve never been desperate for opportunities. I believe the right projects will come to me. When I came to India from the U.S., I didn’t go to my hometown in Kerala – I came straight to Hyderabad and have lived here ever since. I auditioned for Prithviraj’s Aadujeevitham in Malayalam but couldn’t do the film. If I get a good opportunity, I’d love to work in Malayalam cinema someday. Working with Dheekshith was a great experience – he’s a very dedicated actor, and we prepared well for our combination scenes.

I had earlier worked with producer Dheeraj on Urvasivo Rakshasivo. For a film like The Girlfriend to succeed, you need a committed producer like Dheeraj. Many female-centric films in the past didn’t receive the attention they deserved because they lacked the right team. Our film highlights how society places countless conditions on women – how to talk, what to wear, when to marry, when to have children – while men only face pressure about their job or income. I currently have a few projects in the discussion stage, but it’s too early to reveal details about them.”

Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Launches Title Poster for ‘Pithapuram lo’

‘Pithapuram lo’ is a new film directed by Mahesh Chandra, who is well-known for his movie ‘Preyasi Rave’. The film comes with the tagline ‘Ala Modalaindi’ (That’s How It Started).

The main cast includes Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Prudhvi Raj, Kedar Shankar, Manichandana, Sunny Akhil, Virat, Sai Praneeth, Sreelu, and Prathyusha. The film is produced by Dundigalla Balakrishna, Akula Suresh Patel, and FM Murali (Godari Kittayya) under the Mahesh Chandra Cinema Team banner.

The title poster for the movie was officially launched by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister, Bhatti Vikramarka.

Speaking at the event, Bhatti Vikramarka said: “The director explained the film’s concept to me. It seems to be a good, message-oriented film. It has a message for today’s youth about how to make decisions and grow while respecting family values. I hope everyone supports this film.”

Much like my previous films ‘Aa Naluguru’, ‘Mee Sreyobhilashi’, and ‘Onamalu’, this movie delivers a strong message while still having elements that will attract the youth.”

Actor Prudhvi Raj said: “This is a story about three families. In today’s internet age, this film will be an eye-opener for young people who may not be showing respect to their parents.”

Director Mahesh Chandra said: “My first movie, ‘Preyasi Rave’, earned me a wonderful reputation and still holds a place in the audience’s hearts. I am confident ‘Pithapuramlo’ will achieve similar success. This is a story that is very close to my heart. While it seems like the story of three fathers, it also revolves around three couples.

We titled the film ‘Pithapuram’, which is the constituency of Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. We are extremely happy that Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka launched our title poster. The film is currently in the final stages of post-production, and we plan to release it next month.”

   * Cycling Deficiencies: Absence of dedicated cycling lanes and secure bike parking facilities discourages the use of bicycles or shared micro-mobility options.
* Lack of Integration and Coordination: There is often a disconnect in planning and operations between the Metro Rail Corporation, local Municipal Corporations, and State Road Transport Undertakings (SRTUs). This leads to:
   * Disparate Ticketing: Lack of a unified ticketing system (like the National Common Mobility Card – NCMC) that works across the metro, feeder buses, and other modes.
   * No Integrated Schedules: Feeder services rarely synchronize their schedules with metro train arrivals and departures.
* Safety and Security Concerns: Inadequate lighting and police presence, particularly late at night, make the final journey challenging, especially for women commuters.
* Informal Para-Transit Chaos: While auto-rickshaws are vital, their operation is often unregulated, leading to overcharging, refusal of short-distance rides, and chaotic parking, creating congestion at station exits.

Solutions for Seamless Last-Mile Connection
Addressing the last-mile problem requires a comprehensive, multi-modal, and integrated approach:
1. Robust and Integrated Feeder Systems
* Automatic Feeder Permits: Streamlining the process for metro entities to run their own feeder bus services by granting automatic permits under transport regulations.
* Electric Micro/Mini Buses: Introducing frequent, compact electric microbuses that can navigate narrow city streets and offer clean, dedicated services within a 5-kilometre radius of the station.
* Single/Common Ticketing: Fully implementing the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) or QR-code systems for seamless payment across the metro, feeder buses, and authorized shared mobility.
2. Enhancing Non-Motorized Transport (NMT)
* Prioritizing Pedestrian Corridors: Ensuring continuous, shaded, and safe footpaths within a 500-meter catchment area of every station, free from encroachment.
* Dedicated Cycling Infrastructure: Providing dedicated cycle lanes and secure, covered bicycle and e-bike parking at station premises.
* Improving Access: Constructing well-lit Foot Overbridges (FOBs) or subways to connect stations to key adjacent high-rise buildings, commercial centres, and bus stops, separating pedestrian traffic from vehicular flow.
3. Smart & Shared Mobility Solutions
* Regulated Shared E-Mobility: Promoting the deployment of regulated electric three-wheelers (e-rickshaws), e-bikes, and bike-taxis by creating designated, organized pick-up/drop-off points and parking bays near the exits.
* App Integration: Collaborating with private ride-sharing aggregators and public transport apps to provide real-time information and booking for various last-mile options, allowing commuters to plan their end-to-end journey.
* Transit-Oriented Development (TOD): Implementing policies that integrate land use and transport planning, allowing for high-density mixed-use development within walking distance of metro stations to naturally reduce last-mile travel needs.
4. Institutional and Policy Reforms
* Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA): Establishing a single body to coordinate the planning and operations of all modes of transport in a city—metro, buses, autos, and taxis—to ensure consistency and resource allocation for last-mile needs.
* Mandatory Last-Mile Budgeting: Mandating that metro Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) allocate a specific percentage of their budget (e.g., 10%) for integrated last-mile infrastructure and services.

Known for his consistent efforts, Vishnu has been organizing regular health check-ups for MAA members in collaboration with leading multi-specialty hospitals in Hyderabad. These health camps have been well-received, with active participation from the members.

Continuing this initiative, a special health camp for MAA members was held on Sunday under the aegis of KIMS Sunshine Hospital. The event saw the participation of MAA President Vishnu Manchu, Treasurer Shiva Balaji, and actor Rajeev Kanakala. Prominent producers Chalasani Ashwini Dutt and Gemini Kiran are making preparations to produce a massive budget film, directed by Ajay Bhupathi, introducing Ghattamaneni Jayakrishna, the son of Super Star Mahesh Babu’s elder brother, as the hero. Padmalaya banner is also likely to be a partner in the film’s production.

The title “Srinivasa Mangapuram” is currently under consideration for this movie.


Jayakrishna, the son of Krishna’s elder son Ramesh Babu, is well-trained in all aspects of acting. Although several directors vied to introduce him as a hero, Ajay Bhupathi bagged this golden chance. Ashwini Dutt, who introduced heroes like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and Ram Charan, is now set to launch another successor into Tollywood.
