The story and screenplay were provided by RV Subrahmanyam, while JSS Vardhan directed the film. Released on September 19, the movie has turned out to be a blockbuster. To celebrate this success, the makers organized a grand success meet on Saturday.

While speaking at the event, VK Naresh said: “The soul of Beauty made us all speak from our hearts even during promotions, and today that very soul is connecting with audiences. Even before the release, I honored the director and producer, because I knew this film would be a blockbuster. I must have acted in over 350 movies, but never have I seen such outstanding reviews as this one has received. I’m even taking printouts of these reviews to keep with me. My heartfelt thanks to the media for embracing the film with such admiration. I have witnessed many highs and lows in my career, but this film is truly special to me. This story connects with everyone, across all walks of life. I feel proud seeing how Vardhan has crafted such a touching film. Subbu gave us a wonderful story. Sai Kumar’s cinematography is beautiful, and producer Vijaypal Reddy never compromised at any stage. He has withstood both success and failure in the same month, proving his resilience. Nilakhi delivered a stunning performance, and Ankith Koyya is sure to establish his mark in the industry. Vijay Bulganin gave us soulful music that elevated the film. My thanks to every single member of the audience who is supporting a film that beautifully blends love, emotions, and family values.”

Ankith Koyya stated: “‘Beauty’ has reached everyone’s hearts. Watching people wipe their tears after the climax itself is our victory. From the very beginning, the media strongly supported us, taking our film to the audiences. Even my friends and celebrities who attended the private shows loved it so much that they began promoting it further. It’s not just enough to work; one must also speak and spread good words about the film. None of the films I’ve acted in have ever disappointed audiences, and the same stands true here — Ankith Koyya means minimum guarantee. If you make a film with honesty, success is certain. Even if stones are hurled at us, let’s build our house with them. Thank you to the audience for embracing us so warmly.”

Director Vardhan expressed: “I thank the media wholeheartedly for supporting Beauty. The film is entertaining audiences everywhere. I have personally visited 15 theaters, and everywhere the response has been overwhelming. For those who haven’t watched yet, please go. At least one scene, somewhere, will connect deeply with you. The visuals crafted by Sai are stunning, and Vijay Bulganin’s music brought immense strength to the narration. Thanks to the audience for this immense support.”

Producer Vijaypal Reddy said: “‘Beauty’ has already achieved commercial success. Every day I’m receiving calls filled with appreciation, people telling me this is a wonderful film that left them deeply moved. Both the media and the audience are showering immense love. This is more than just a film — this is life itself, a mirror to our own lives.”

Actress Nilakhi said: “I sincerely thank the media and the audience for showing so much love towards Beauty. The appreciation I’m receiving for my role has been overwhelming, and I am grateful to everyone for their kind words.”

Senior journalist Prabhu commented: “When good films like Beauty are released, media will always extend its support. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and media will continue to encourage meaningful cinema like this.”

Writer RV Subrahmanyam said: “Thanks to audiences and media for making Beauty a big success. During our theater visits, the response we witnessed was incredible. Demand for the show is continuously growing. Each character in the film is connecting with audiences, and especially women — they’re walking out of theaters with tears in their eyes.”

Cinematographer Sai Kumar Dhara shared: “The entire team supported me greatly while making Beauty. Ankith acted brilliantly, and despite the language barrier, Nilakhi delivered a remarkable performance. Senior actors like Naresh and Vasuki were the strong pillars of our film. I am thankful to the director and producer for giving me this opportunity, and to the audience for showering their immense love.”

The GO states that OG’s premiere show has been permitted in the state on 24 September, a day before the film’s release, and that tickets will be priced at ₹800. This is surprising given that the earliest show permitted in Andhra Pradesh is for a few hours later, at 1 AM on 25 September, though the ticket is costlier and priced at a whopping ₹1000.

Permissions have also been given for OG to increase ticket prices for the first ten days of release, from 25 September to 4 October.

Single-screen tickets will be increased by ₹100, while multiplex tickets will be enhanced by ₹150. This means that, on average, single-screen and multiplex tickets will cost ₹277 and ₹445, respectively.

0

In an effort to continuously engage audiences, Attitude Star Chandrahass is working on a series of films. His latest, ‘Coin,’ is directed by Jairam Chitikeala and produced by Srikanth Rajarathnam. To celebrate Chandrahass’s birthday on September 17, the movie’s glimpse and title poster were released on Wednesday.

At the launch event, director Sai Rajesh said, “I hope new talent enters the industry with the film ‘Coin.’ I have known Prabhakar Garu for many years. I’ve known Chandrahass since he was a child. When they narrated the story, I was shocked to learn so much revolved around a ‘Coin.’ I’m confident that the hype around the film will grow even more after the trailer is released. All the best to the team.”

Attitude Star Chandrahass stated, “Our director Jairam is making ‘Coin’ based on real events. He wrote a fantastic story based on the banning and melting of old five-rupee coins and the crimes that unfolded as a result. I really like Jairam’s work ethic and believe he will become a star director in the future. Thanks to Sai Rajesh sir for coming to launch the ‘Coin’ First Flip. I believe Nimishi, our music director, will reach great heights. Srikanth Rajarathnam is a very passionate producer who has a lot of faith in the story. I don’t consider the genre when I like a story; I try to do all kinds of films. I am the one who gives final approval for the story and films, though my father occasionally gives advice. I’m always working hard to live up to the trust of those who support me and to answer those who troll me.”

Director Jairam Chitikeala said, “Thanks to Sai Rajesh sir for coming for us. I’m making this film with the premise of why the five-rupee coin was banned. I’ll reveal more about this movie in the future. I hope everyone liked our First Flip. I gave the First Flip as a birthday gift to our hero Chandrahass. I saw his ‘RRR’ cover song and was so impressed by his energy that I narrated this story to him. Chandrahass believed in this story even more than I did. Nimishi’s music is going to be amazing. We’ll be releasing our film in the summer.”

Music director Nimishi Jackias said, “Director Jairam is my friend, and we’ve had a bond for four years. Thanks to Jairam for giving me a chance on this movie. Jairam told me five days ago that he wanted to release the glimpse for Chandrahass’s birthday. He sent me the footage two days ago, and I worked day and night to get this First Flip ready. This film’s music is turning out great.”

Line producer Gangadhar stated, “Sai Rajesh hired me as a line producer for ‘Colour Photo.’ I’ve known Jairam for a long time. Chandrahass really liked the songs Jairam created. After hearing the story, he agreed to the project. Hats off to Chandrahass for recognizing Jairam’s talent. The media always supports new and small films, and I’m confident they’ll do the same for ‘Coin’.”

Intermittent eve teasing cases in India

0

The term “eve teasing,” a phrase common in India and other parts of South Asia, is a deceptive euphemism for a grave and pervasive social problem: public sexual harassment of women.

This menace, which includes everything from lewd comments and leering to more aggressive physical acts like groping and stalking, is a daily reality for millions of women and girls.

It is not a harmless act of “teasing,” but a serious crime that infringes upon a woman’s fundamental rights to safety, dignity, and freedom of movement.

The Multifaceted Impact on Women
The effects of eve teasing are profound and far-reaching, extending beyond the immediate moment of harassment.
* Psychological Toll: Victims often experience a range of emotions including fear, shame, embarrassment, and anxiety. The constant state of hypervigilance required to navigate public spaces can lead to long-term psychological distress, affecting mental health and well-being.
* Restriction of Freedom: The fear of harassment forces women to self-impose restrictions on their lives. They may avoid certain routes, times of the day, or even public transport, limiting their access to education, work, and social activities. This directly impacts their socio-economic opportunities and independence.
* Normalization and Victim-Blaming: A deeply troubling aspect of this issue is its normalization in society. Often, the victim is blamed for the harassment, with questions raised about her attire, her presence in a particular location, or her behavior. This victim-blaming culture discourages reporting and allows perpetrators to act with impunity.

The Social and Cultural Roots
The roots of this menace are deeply embedded in India’s patriarchal society.
* Patriarchal Mindset: A male-dominated social structure fosters a sense of entitlement among men, where they view women as objects and believe they have the right to assert their dominance in public spaces.
* Influence of Media: While this has been changing, some depictions in Indian cinema and popular culture have, in the past, glorified acts of “eve teasing” as a romantic pursuit, blurring the lines between harassment and courtship and sending a dangerous message to society.
* Lack of Accountability: A widespread lack of accountability for offenders, coupled with low conviction rates, reinforces the belief that such acts have no serious consequences.
* Gender-Biased Socialization: The way boys and girls are raised often perpetuates this problem. Boys are frequently given more freedom and a sense of authority, while girls are taught to be submissive and cautious, further entrenching the power imbalance.

Legal Provisions and the Roadblocks to Justice
While there is no specific law titled “Eve Teasing,” various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) address the acts that constitute it:
* Section 294: Deals with obscene acts or songs in a public place.
* Section 354 and 354A: Cover assault or criminal force with the intent to outrage a woman’s modesty and explicitly define sexual harassment as a punishable offense.
* Section 509: Punishes words, gestures, or acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman.
* Section 354D: Specifically criminalizes stalking.

Despite these legal provisions, the implementation of these laws is often weak. Many victims are hesitant to report for fear of social stigma, a long and cumbersome legal process, and a lack of faith in the system. The police, at times, also trivialize the complaints or suggest a compromise, rather than registering a formal case and initiating a proper investigation.

A Way Forward: Collective Action for Change
Eradicating this menace requires a comprehensive and multi-pronged strategy.
* Gender Sensitization and Education: It is critical to initiate gender sensitization programs in schools, colleges, and at the community level. Education on consent, respect for women, and gender equality from a young age is paramount to changing mindsets.
* Strengthening Law Enforcement: Law enforcement agencies must be better trained to handle cases of sexual harassment with sensitivity and efficiency. Creating a more victim-friendly reporting system and ensuring swift justice for perpetrators will encourage more women to come forward.
* Community and Family Involvement: Society must stop normalizing and trivializing “eve teasing.” Families and communities must actively support victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
* Public Awareness Campaigns: The media and civil society organizations have a crucial role to play in raising awareness about the severity of this issue and challenging the social norms that allow it to persist.

“Eve teasing” is not a minor inconvenience; it is a serious threat to the safety and freedom of women in India. Addressing this menace is not just about enforcing laws; it is about fundamentally changing a patriarchal mindset and building a society where every woman can walk freely and with dignity, without fear.
