The movie revolves around a young village woman named Subbu (played by Anupama Parameswaran) who is bound by a traditional practice of wearing a veil (paradha).
A prominent photographer of India clicks her face photograph when her paradha(veil) is blown away by wind and it’s featured on the cover page of the magazine highlighting women achievements in different fields.
Villagers accidentally discover the magazine cover page and ostracize Anupuma from the village fearing it will be a curse to the village, it will anger their village godess and fearing new born deaths.
Rest of the story how Anupuma goes in search of photographer to Dharmashala to prove her innocence in the process she discovers herself, belief in gender equality gets stronger.
In the end she makes her villagers dispel their orthodox beliefs and myth surrounding face paradha being their protector.
Gopi Sundar background score is awesome.
Harsha Vardhan and Sangeetha in supporting roles did a splendid job.
Gautham Menon did a key cameo role as a photographer who pictures Anupuma face without Paradha and drives the story forward.
The film questions age old orthodox beliefs, strongly supports femininity and gender equality.
