The makers of Rākāsā have unveiled the film’s first single, “Rapappa,” introducing audiences to a lively and unconventional musical number that blends heartbreak with humour. Sung by Ram Miriyala, composed by Anudeep Dev, and written by lyricist Raghuram, the song marks the beginning of the film’s musical journey with a track that is both entertaining and rhythmically infectious. Presented as a lyrical release, “Rapappa” instantly grabs attention with its playful tone and energetic structure, giving listeners an engaging glimpse into the film’s musical personality while adding another exciting layer to the growing anticipation surrounding Rākāsā.
What makes “Rapappa” stand out is its witty lyrical style and its strong sense of rhythmic wordplay. Instead of portraying heartbreak in a purely emotional or melancholic way, lyricist Raghuram turns the situation into a humorous and relatable musical narrative. The lyrics are filled with clever rhymes and playful punchlines that flow effortlessly with the beat, creating a lively conversational rhythm throughout the song. Lines that stack rhyming words in quick succession add a comic flavour to the protagonist’s heartbreak, making the song feel both amusing and expressive at the same time. Ram Miriyala’s distinctive vocal delivery enhances this mood perfectly, bringing a mix of frustration, sarcasm and charm to the performance. The repeating hook “Rapappa… Rapappa…” serves as a catchy refrain that anchors the song’s identity, making it instantly memorable and enjoyable for listeners.
The choreography for the song has been designed by JD Master, adding another dynamic element to the musical presentation.
