A feel-good romantic entertainer titled ‘Doordarshini’, starring Suvikshit and Geethika Ratan in the lead roles, is being తెరకెక్కed based on a real-life incident. Carrying the tagline “Kalipindi Iddarini” (It United Two Hearts), the film is directed by Karthikeya Kommi and produced by Jaya Shankar Reddy M and Patimeedi Santosh under the Varaha Movie Makers banner. Having completed all formalities, the film is set for release on May 15.
Ahead of the release, the team organized a promotional meet in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, Gemini Suresh said, “After overcoming several hurdles, the film has finally locked its release date. On May 15, tune your ‘heart’s antenna’ towards ‘Doordarshini’. This is a film that will deeply move audiences and bring a good name to everyone involved. I was given a unique role, and I’m confident that my character, along with others, will be appreciated. This film feels like homemade comfort food—it gives you the experience of revisiting village life and brings back fond memories.”
Director Karthikeya Kommi shared, “Many think this is just a love story, but it has elements that will appeal to parents, youth, and society at large. It brings back memories of the 1990s, especially the days when people eagerly waited for programs like ‘Chitralahari’. The film is rich in emotion and will touch every heart. It will take audiences back to their golden days. This film will earn Suvikshit a good name as a hero. We are delighted that notable personalities are supporting our film. I request everyone to watch and support ‘Doordarshini’ on May 15. The climax will leave audiences thinking, and the emotional impact will linger long after the film ends.”
Heroine Geethika Das said, “This is a film made with a lot of love and passion. It will surely move audiences emotionally. It’s a very cool and soothing film for this summer. Love stories like this are rare, and I believe Telugu audiences will definitely like it.”
Hero Suvikshit revealed the emotional core of the story, saying, “While I was doing Giripradakshina at Arunachalam, I saw an elderly man begging. When I spoke to him, he shared his life story—that story became the inspiration for this film. It revolves around why a father had to resort to begging because of his own son. This is a story woven around a real-life incident. I can say this confidently—if anyone watches this film without shedding tears, I will personally help settle their life. The story also shows how ‘Doordarshini’ brought a couple together. Even while narrating this, I get emotional. It explores a father’s mental condition and the circumstances that led him to such a situation. Along with the ticket, we should probably give a handkerchief too—because no one can watch this film without getting emotional.”
Lavanya Reddy added, “This film will offer a wonderful theatrical experience. Set against the backdrop of the Godavari region, it’s a beautiful love story. Audiences will surely be entertained and walk away with the feeling of having watched a heartwarming film.”
Actors Kittayya, Teja, Balaraju, and others were also present at the event.
