The pre-release event of the film “Gedela Raju” was held Grandly

0

– Renowned directors V.V. Vinayak, V.N. Aditya, and producer Kona Venkat attended as chief guests.

The film “Gedela Raju,” starring Raghu Kunche in the title role, carries the tagline “Kakinada Taluka Cinema.” Along with Raghu Kunche, the film features Ramachandram Punyamurthula, Vikas, Tina Shwavy, Mounika, Ravi Chinnibilli, and others. The teaser, trailer, and songs of the movie have already received a good response. Produced under the Moturi Talkies banner and presented by Raghu Kunche, the film is directed by Chaitanya Moturi and produced by Vani Ravikumar Moturi. The movie is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on the 24th of this month. The pre-release event was held today in Hyderabad with prominent guests including directors V.V. Vinayak, V.N. Aditya, and producer-writer Kona Venkat.

Director V.V. Vinayak said – Raghu Kunche is a friend to everyone in the industry and has earned many friendships. He entered the industry even before us and tried as an artist and hero. He gained recognition as a musician and singer. His dream of acting as a solo hero is being fulfilled with this film. The movie has got a good release date, and being released by a reputed banner like Mythri is itself a big achievement. Raghu has passionately worked on this film, even naming it after his character. I wish this film great success and hope it brings him immense recognition. I also wish director Chaitanya achieves success and becomes a big director.

Writer and producer Kona Venkat said – Having so many friends is Raghu Kunche’s biggest asset. He is planning to introduce his son as a hero soon, and meanwhile, he himself has acted as a hero. I watched the content of “Gedela Raju,” and it is very good. Today, there is no difference between star heroes and newcomers—if the content is good, the film will definitely succeed. Passion and content are more important than money, and both are evident in this team. Every technician has some knowledge of multiple crafts, and all have given their best work for this film. Though there are obstacles like IPL and piracy, a good film cannot be stopped. If the audience likes the trailer or songs, they will watch the movie. Our recent film “Band Melam” proved that. I hope “Gedela Raju” also becomes a big success and earns recognition for the team.

Directors’ Association President V.N. Aditya said – I liked the trailer of “Gedela Raju” very much. Raghu Kunche is a good actor with expressive emotions. He can build a strong acting career. Producer Vani supporting her son Chaitanya to become a director is commendable. Usually, parents hesitate to send their children into the film industry, but she produced this film with her own money. The release timing during holidays is perfect, and with Mythri releasing it, I hope the film becomes a success and brings recognition to everyone involved.

Producer Ravikumar said – It is a pleasure to share the stage with industry celebraties. This opportunity came because of my son Chaitanya. My wife is the pillar of our family, and with her support, we could produce this film. Raghu Kunche supported us like a brother. I hope the film brings us success and recognition.

Journalist TV5 Murthy said – Raghu Kunche is a good friend of mine and is very passionate about cinema. He is multi-talented—music, singing, acting—and remains humble despite his success. I watched the songs and trailer, and they are very good. Director Chaitanya is lucky to have supportive parents. I wish the film great success.

Director Chaitanya Moturi said – With “Gedela Raju,” I am introducing many new talents to the industry. I never imagined the film would reach such a big level of promotions and release. I feel fortunate to have met Raghu Kunche, who supported us immensely. We are coming before you on the 24th and hope you will support our film.

Actress Shravya said – Our film has all elements—mass, emotion, and love. I request everyone to watch and make it a success on the 24th.

Actor Vikas said – I play the character Vijay, which has a strong love story. “Gedela Raju” will present a new kind of mystery thriller that audiences haven’t seen before.

Actor Raghu Kunche said – Very few parents encourage their children to enter the film industry because there are no guarantees here—lives change every Friday. Success and failure keep shifting. But our director Chaitanya’s parents supported him. I remember a BhagavadGita verse—life is a constant Kurukshetra battle; if you win, you enjoy prosperity, if you lose, you gain honor. One should never stop fighting. The film industry is like a Padmavyuha you enter it, but rarely leave. I wish Chaitanya, who entered like Abhimanyu, great success. His parents’ efforts for this film are immense. Our film mostly features newcomers, but it has a strong native story set in Kakinada around a rowdy character. The film has many engaging elements, especially a surprising twist in the last 20 minutes that will impress audiences. Mythri is releasing the film on over 100 screens. I believe audiences will recommend it to others after watching.

IPL Controversy: SRH Ownership, Identity and Telangana Player Representation

0

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has long been one of the league’s consistent teams, known for strong bowling attacks and competitive play.

However, in recent months, the team and its ownership have been at the centre of controversies that go beyond on-field performance — touching on questions of identity, regional representation and the priorities of team management.

1. Who Owns Sunrisers Hyderabad?

Sunrisers Hyderabad is owned by the Sun TV Network, one of India’s largest media groups. The franchise was purchased in 2012 after the earlier Hyderabad team, the Deccan Chargers, was terminated by the IPL. Since then, SRH has operated under the leadership of the network’s chairman, Kalanithi Maran, with his daughter Kavya Maran also playing a prominent executive and public role.

While this corporate ownership has given SRH stability and financial strength, it has also raised questions of regional identity — especially since Sun TV Network is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, while SRH’s home and fan base are in Hyderabad, Telangana.

2. Ownership Controversies and Fan Backlash

Earlier in 2026, a controversy involving Sunrisers’ related franchise in England — Sunrisers Leeds — sparked a wave of criticism among Indian fans. The franchise signed Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed in The Hundred competition, leading to social-media backlash and calls for boycotts by some sections of fans. Critics argued that an owner connected to an Indian IPL franchise should avoid signing players from Pakistan, especially amid tense political relations.

Although that issue centred on a different league, it reflected broader fan sensitivity to symbolic decisions associated with the SRH brand and its ownership — and triggered renewed discussion about how the franchise positions itself within Indian cricket culture.

3. Telangana Players and Local Representation

A separate but connected debate has been growing in Telangana and nearby regions: can SRH truly be considered their team if local talent is not given visible opportunities?

In March 2026, A Venkateshwar Reddy, a former chairman of the Telangana Sports Authority, staged a protest outside Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. He criticized SRH’s management for what he called a lack of attention to Telangana players and broader neglect of cricket development in the state — especially in rural areas.

Reddy’s comments underscored long-standing feelings among some fans that:

Despite being Hyderabad’s flagship IPL franchise, SRH has rarely developed or promoted many local Telugu players, compared to the number of players from other regions or foreign recruits.

Many of the team’s key non-playing staff and executives are from outside Telangana, leading to perceptions that local talent isn’t a priority.

Online discussions have echoed this sentiment for years, with fans noting that while SRH proudly carries Hyderabad’s name, its squad rarely features homegrown stars — a contrast to how some other sports teams around the world build identity through regional players.

4. Why Does Local Representation Matter?

For many fans, especially in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the question of local representation isn’t just symbolic — it’s about connection and pride. When a team from your city or region fields local players, supporters feel a stronger emotional investment and sense of shared identity.

This feeling is not unique to SRH — but in a league like the IPL, where fan loyalties are deeply tied to places as much as performance, the absence of regional faces in the squad can weaken local support over time.

5. The Bigger Picture

SRH’s controversies reflect deeper tensions at the intersection of business, sport and identity:

Corporate ownership means decisions are often driven by strategy and market positioning, not necessarily local sentiment.

Fan expectations in regions like Telangana include not just good performance, but regional pride and representation.

Symbolic controversies, such as international signings or ownership origins, can amplify debates about who a team truly represents.

Whether SRH responds by investing more visibly in local talent — or continues its current model — remains to be seen. But the conversation itself highlights how modern sports teams are expected to balance competitive excellence with cultural connection to their home regions.

A Gripping Mystery Thriller
Speaking at a recent press meet, K.S. Rama Rao shared his excitement about the project:
This is a magnificent murder mystery thriller. After watching the Kannada version, I was deeply impressed by the filmmaking, high production values, and the intense suspense elements. I felt it was a story that must be brought to the Telugu audience. Raj B. Shetty has delivered a stellar performance in the role of a police inspector.

Strategic Release & Challenges

The producer addressed the current state of the film industry and explained the strategy behind the release date

Holiday Advantage: The film will hit theaters on May 1st (May Day). Being a public holiday, the team believes it will be more accessible to workers and families.
The IPL Factor: Acknowledging the ongoing IPL season, Rao has requested distributors to prioritize Morning and Matinee shows to ensure the film reaches audiences before the cricket matches begin in the evening.

With all formalities completed and the trailer expected to release shortly, ‘Rakshasapuram’ is all set for its grand theatrical debut on May 1st.

“Surya Be Positive” movie Teaser Launched by Directors Koushik Pegallapati and Muralikanth Devasoth

The teaser for the upcoming film “Surya Be Positive” was grandly launched by Dandora director Muralikanth Devasoth and Kishkindhapuri director Koushik Pegallapati, who graced the event as chief guests.

Produced under the banners of Kaali Krafts and Nirmalam Dramaz, the film is written and directed by Subba Madhavarapu. It features Charan Pesarla as the lead actor, with Annie Diana and Divya Vishwakarma playing the heroines. Key roles are portrayed by Rohith Satyan, Sujatha Deekshith, Chandra Gautam, Balagam Satya, Surabhi Lalitha, and Geethan Sai Teja. The technical team includes DOP Arun Kumar Parvataneni, Music Director Gyani, and Editor Muralikrishna Manyam.

On this occasion, Actor Balagam Satya said… “Hello everyone. I was surprised when the hero, Charan, personally approached me for this role. He believed in me and gave me a very unique character. We acted together and had a great time. A very good movie is coming to the audience, and I request everyone’s blessings.”

Actor Rohith Satyan said… “I thank our chief guests, Kaushik Pegallapati and Muralikanth Devasoth. I have been acting in minor roles since 2017, but this is the first time I am speaking on stage thanks to this film. The director gave me a challenging role that is much older than my actual age. Even while in the US, he made sure everything was handled perfectly. The audience must experience this fresh content in theaters. Telugu audiences always encourage good content, and I hope they support us.”

Actress Sujatha Deekshith said… “Thank you to the guest directors. Usually, I am a very loud and talkative person, but in this film, my character is completely silent. Unlike my previous roles filled with dialogue, the director made me act with my eyes here. It is a completely contrasting role for me. Everyone worked incredibly hard. It is a relatable, everyday story being brought to the screen.”

Actress Divya Vishwakarma said… “Thank you to everyone who attended. Standing on this stage for a Telugu film feels very special. Even though Telugu is not my native language, the love, acceptance, and opportunity I have received make me overjoyed. I sincerely thank the directors for trusting me, as well as my co-stars and the technical team for their immense support.”

Actress Annie Diana said… “Thanks to the guests and the media for attending our teaser launch. I want to express my special gratitude to the director, cast, and crew. I hope everyone liked our teaser. This is my debut film, and I hope you all support us.”

Lead Actor Charan Peesarla said… “Hello everyone. I am forever grateful to directors Kaushik Pegallapati and Muralikanth Devasoth for taking the time to support our film, never forgetting the struggles of making a new movie. Our director managed his job in the US while working on this film day and night. Our producer has invested years of hard work and trust in us.

I am introducing myself as an actor and asking for the audience’s validation. I have acted in three films before this, but due to unavoidable reasons, they weren’t released. This is my fourth film, and I hope the audience appreciates me. I will never stop; I will keep moving forward. I believe any insults faced today will turn into honors tomorrow.”

Lyricist Rambabu Gosala said… “The main reason I wrote songs for this film is Music Director Gyani. He provided excellent tunes. Charan worked very hard, and I hope he establishes himself as a great hero in Tollywood. The director gave me continuous inputs, resulting in great songs that will be released soon. I hope the movie becomes a big hit.”

Director Muralikanth Devasoth (Chief Guest) said… “When I was invited, I learned about the immense effort put into this project. Making a film in today’s circumstances is very difficult. I was amazed by Rohit Satya’s performance. The team captured even the smallest details beautifully. Director Subba Madhavarapu working from the US and executing this is highly commendable; I don’t think I could have done that. The DOP visuals are great, and I wish the film a grand success.”

Director Koushik Pegallapati (Chief Guest) said… “The teaser cut is exceptional. I came here mainly because Murali is my senior and Charan is my junior from the same college. The audience will definitely love this film. Becoming a hero is not easy; the audience needs to connect with the character’s struggles and feel a personal victory when the hero wins on screen. I hope the audience feels that victory watching Charan. I cannot believe the director flew from the US and completed the film in six months. Thanks to the media for supporting the film.”

Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu, who is producing ten films with a budget of ₹30crore

Heartfelt Thanks to producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu, who is producing ten films with a budget of ₹30 crore for TFDA: Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA) President V. N. Aditya

Renowned producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao is set to produce ten films with a total budget of ₹30 crore under the banner of the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA). In this regard, TFDA held a media conference on Monday. The event was attended by chief guest Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao. Association President V. N. Aditya, Treasurer Sai Rajesh, Vice President Samudra, and noted directors Naveen Medaram, Ajay Kumar, and Prasanna Kumar, among others, were present and spoke at the event.

V. N. Aditya said: “Our committee has been newly elected. We are focusing on education, healthcare, and employment. On the occasion of Ugadi, Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu shared a great idea with us. Directors can survive only if there are producers. Even talented individuals struggle to obtain union membership. Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu is producing ten films with ₹30 crore under his banner, giving a great opportunity to members of our association. Through this, not just ten directors, but around 100 to 150 assistant directors will also get opportunities. We are forming a committee for these films, with senior directors like Ajay Kumar and Prasanna Kumar playing key roles. We are filtering story ideas and bound scripts submitted by our members, and the committee is already at work. Giving even one person an opportunity is not a small thing, but he is providing chances to many at once. He also said that if profits come, they will be given to the union. This is not just an opportunity for us, it is a blessing. Our heartfelt gratitude to him.”

Sai Rajesh said: “It is a matter of pride to serve as the Treasurer of TFDA. We won the elections with the slogan of education, healthcare, and employment. We have always been thinking about how to create employment. On Ugadi, Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu appeared like a blessing to us. He announced that he would produce ten films with ₹30 crore and even give the profits to the union. With this opportunity, we promise to introduce many new technicians and fresh talent to the industry and generate profits as well. We are selecting the best stories. Under the direction of Prasanna garu, we will manage production control. We will make the best use of this opportunity and deliver good films.”

Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao said: “The media has supported me for many years. I do not like publicizing myself like this, but V. N. Aditya garu insisted that I make this announcement personally. Even if I do not earn money in the film industry, serving the art gives me complete happiness and good health. I have made many films with great personalities like ANR garu and Shobhan Babu garu. Ajay is like a family member to me. He made the film ‘Jeevitha Khaidi’ for me with a budget of ₹75 lakhs, which earned me a share of ₹7 crore at that time. Back then, I used to complete each film in 30 to 40 days. I prefer the film industry of those days over the present one. Heroes like Shobhan Babu garu and ANR garu were very supportive. Today, everything has increased in the industry, but the number of theatres has decreased. Even capable producers and directors are getting fewer opportunities. That is why I decided to support directors. I want to make great films with strong values, good stories, and commercial appeal. We must make quality films with discipline—shooting should begin at exactly 7 AM. If good films help heroes, artists, and directors sustain themselves in the industry, that is enough for me.”

Director Ajay Kumar said: “Such a decision and such a great initiative may not have happened anywhere in the world before. After making ‘Jeevitha Khaidi’ with Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu, I became like a life member of his family. I was a key disciple of Kodandarami Reddy garu. In those days, we used to complete films in 30 to 40 days with discipline. Now such conditions do not exist. Today, directors themselves are deciding budgets, but back then we had no involvement in financial matters. If the script is right, the budget will naturally stay within limits. This noble thought of Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu has become a blessing for many.”

Prasanna Kumar said: “During the COVID period, Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu directly provided financial help to many producers, film workers, and laborers. He contributed crores to ensure that more than 4,000 families in Chitrapuri did not suffer. He also promised to provide 100 flats to journalist families. Everyone he supported won the Directors Association elections. After that, when association members met him, he offered ₹30 crore to make ten films. He is assuring full support to everyone. We must protect people like him, they will protect our industry.”

Director Samudra said: “After the elections, we went to meet Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu at his home. This is the blessing he gave us on Ugadi. He encouraged us to support newcomers. He told us to make ten films without worrying about losses, and that if profits come, 50% would go to TFDA. We will be careful about both budget and subject, and we promise to make all ten films successful.”

Naveen Medaram said: “I came here with the encouragement of Sai Rajesh garu. I made the series ‘90s Middle Class Melodies’ in 25 days with a budget of ₹2.5 crore. A director who worked with me made ‘Little Heart’ with the same budget. Being given ₹30 crore to make ten films is truly a great blessing. I hope everyone makes the best use of this opportunity.”
