0

“Pochamma” is set to premiere on aha starting from April 17th

The leading Telugu OTT platform aha is bringing a brand-new web series titled “Pochamma” to its subscribers. This mystical thriller features Ambati Arjun, Sri Pooja Reddy, and Sneha in key roles. The series is produced by Shruti Naidu under the Shruti Naidu Chitra banner and directed by Ramesh Indra.

Speaking after releasing the glimpse, director Buchi Babu Sana said:
“The glimpse of ‘Pochamma’ web series is next level. I got goosebumps just watching it. Some things you can sense beforehand, and this series has a very positive vibe like that. When it comes to village deities, we naturally feel both fear and respect, and all of that is well reflected in this glimpse. I sincerely hope ‘Pochamma’ becomes a big hit and that the entire team earns great recognition. All the best to everyone.” The blockbuster director best wishes and the unveil raised the buzz for this series.

The glimpse showcases a blend of thrilling and divine elements. It intriguingly portrays how the goddess Pochamma punishes those who underestimate her power and protects those who worship her. The background score composed by LV Muthuganesh stands out as a major highlight. A powerful dialogue stating that Pochamma knows how to protect, how to torment, and if necessary, how to kill, gives a strong indication of the intense nature of the series. This mystical thriller is expected to engage audiences who enjoy such content.

Rakasa Telugu Movie Review

Producer: Niharika Konidela and Umesh Kumar Bansal

Music Director: Anudeep Dev

Cinematographer: Raju Eduro

Editor: Anwar Ali

Director: Manasa Sharma

Release date: 3rd April 2026

Coming to the story the film its a comedy horror film set up in a village backdrop and the villagers have the belief from ancient times that there is a ferocious demon in the fort in the outskirts of the village.Whenever the demon sends signals, the villagers have to send human and goat sacrifices otherwise the demon will be angry and destroy the village, currently the village is headed by Ashish Vidyarthi and Bramhaji.

Veera Babu(Sangeeth Sobhan) comes to the same village from the U.S to visit his grandma and to connect with his previous love.

In his village journey he finds his new love Nayan Sarika village priest Chary(Tannikela Bharani) daughter,he gets framed in a murder case  and his passport gets seized, and in the process of proving his innocence he becomes bait for the the Demon.

The rest of the story is Sangeeth Shoban’s journey in the  fort as bait , his meeting Veenala Kishore in an eerie fort and how they conquer Demon with the help of Getup Seenu and Subba Lakshmi (Nayan Sarika) who later join them in the fort.

The first half is amateurish, silly and superstitious, the real story is in the second half.

Director Manasa Sharma failed to stick to one genre and tell the story, Getup seenu did an okay job as sidekick to Sangeeth Shoban in his scary ghost journey.

Fort setting is good dark, eerie and scary similar to Hindi movie Stree.

Sangeet Shobhan did well in his role with greater ease.

Tanikella Bharani is okay in his short role as priest exploiting superstitious weakness of villagers, Nayan Sarika did well as the love interest of Shoban.

The storyline is partially similar to the Hindi movie Stree where Protagonist questions existence of ghosts/demons and later gets entangled in to fight with Spirit/Demon.

First half was a big letdown, second half is okay with shock values, scary settings and demon episodes.

BRS MLA protest on growing mosquito menance

BRS MLA Sudheer Reddy Wears Mosquito-Net Dress to Highlight Hyderabad’s Growing Mosquito Menace

In a dramatic and symbolic protest, a legislator from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) turned heads by wearing a dress made of mosquito net material to draw attention to the worsening mosquito problem in Hyderabad. The unusual attire was meant to spotlight what the MLA described as a “public health emergency” affecting residents across the city.

A Protest with a Purpose

The MLA staged the protest to underline the rising number of mosquito-related complaints, especially in low-lying colonies and areas with stagnant water. Holding placards and interacting with the media, the legislator said that people are being forced to live “inside mosquito nets 24/7” due to unchecked breeding and inadequate fumigation.

The mosquito-net dress symbolized the daily struggle of ordinary citizens who battle swarms of mosquitoes both indoors and outdoors. The protest aimed to push civic authorities to intensify anti-larval drives, fogging operations, and drainage maintenance.

Rising Health Concerns

Hyderabad, like many Indian cities, faces seasonal spikes in mosquito-borne illnesses such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya, particularly during and after the monsoon. Health experts have repeatedly warned that clogged drains, construction debris, and stagnant water pools create ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Residents in several neighborhoods have complained about irregular garbage clearance and waterlogging, which worsen the situation. With rising temperatures and intermittent rains, the mosquito population tends to multiply rapidly.

Political Reactions

The protest sparked mixed reactions in political circles. While some ruling party members termed it a publicity stunt, others acknowledged that mosquito control remains a persistent civic challenge requiring stronger coordination between municipal and health departments.

The BRS leadership defended the MLA’s action, saying that symbolic protests are necessary when repeated complaints from citizens go unheard. They demanded a city-wide special drive with real-time monitoring and public reporting of fumigation schedules.

What Needs to Be Done

Experts suggest a multi-pronged approach to tackle the mosquito menace effectively:

Regular desilting of drains before the monsoon

Strict monitoring of construction sites

Community awareness campaigns on preventing water stagnation

Increased frequency of fogging and anti-larval spraying

Technology-based complaint tracking for faster response

The mosquito-net protest may have been theatrical, but it has succeeded in bringing renewed attention to a pressing urban health issue. Whether it leads to lasting action on the ground remains to be seen, but for many Hyderabad residents, relief from the buzzing menace cannot come soon enough.
