In 2026, India stands at a critical juncture in its infrastructure journey. With road fatalities still a major challenge, the focus has shifted from merely building more roads to building “Thinking Roads.”
Making Indian roads safer requires a “Safe System” approach—accepting that humans make mistakes and designing infrastructure that prevents those mistakes from being fatal. Here is how India is transforming its roads for every stakeholder, and the specific mandates the government is pushing to achieve these goals.
Protecting the Most Vulnerable: Pedestrians & Cyclists
Pedestrians and cyclists account for nearly 20% of road fatalities in India. The goal is to move from “jaywalking penalties” to “pedestrian-first” engineering.
Smart Crosswalks: IoT-enabled crossings that use thermal sensors to detect pedestrians waiting at a curb, automatically triggering LED warning lights embedded in the asphalt to alert oncoming traffic.
Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS): With the rise of silent Electric Vehicles (EVs), the government now requires all new EVs to emit a synthetic sound at low speeds to alert pedestrians and the visually impaired.
Raised Intersections: “Tabletop” crossings that bring the road up to sidewalk level, forcing vehicles to slow down while providing a barrier-free path for those with disabilities.
Shielding the Two-Wheeler Majority Motorcycles and scooters make up the bulk of Indian traffic and nearly 45% of accidents.
AI-Based Helmet Detection: Integrated Traffic Management Systems (ITMS) now use ANPR cameras to automatically detect and fine riders without helmets or those performing dangerous lane-splitting.
Dedicated Two-Wheeler Corridors: On high-density urban roads, physical segregation using “smart bollards” prevents larger vehicles from encroaching on bike lanes.
Anti-Skid Road Surfaces: Implementation of high-friction “rumble strips” and specialized coatings on curves to prevent “slide-out” accidents during heavy monsoons.
The Digital Co-Pilot: Cars & Private Vehicles For private cars, the focus is on V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) communication, expected to be fully notified by the end of 2026.
Fog-Safe Communication: V2V technology allows cars to “talk” to each other within a 360-degree radius. If a car breaks down in dense fog, it sends a digital signal to approaching vehicles long before the drivers see it.
Mandatory ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems): AI-powered features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) are becoming standard, intervening when a driver is distracted or slow to react.
Professionalizing the Road: Buses, Trucks, and Lorries Heavy vehicles pose the highest risk due to blind spots and driver fatigue.
The 2026 ADAS Mandate: From April 1, 2026, all new trucks and buses (categories M2, M3, N2, N3) must be equipped with a specific safety package:
DDAWS (Driver Drowsiness & Attention Warning): AI cameras track facial cues and steering patterns to detect fatigue, triggering haptic alerts (vibrating seats).
BSIS (Blind Spot Information Systems): Radars specifically designed to detect pedestrians and cyclists in the driver’s blind zones.
Steps the Government Must (and is taking) Toward this Goal. To move from intent to impact, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and local bodies must prioritize these five pillars: A. Infrastructure & Blackspot Removal. The government has identified 100 high-fatality districts for targeted intervention. This involves fixing “blackspots”—stretches where accidents recur—using data-driven engineering instead of just adding more signage. B. The “Sadak Suraksha Mitra” Movement Engaging the youth through programs like the Sadak Suraksha Mitra (SSM) volunteers. By training community leaders in first aid and the “Golden Hour” response, the government aims to ensure no accident victim is left without help. C. Digital Enforcement & ICCCs Expanding Integrated Command and Control Centers (ICCC) in every smart city. These hubs use AI to manage traffic signals adaptively, reducing congestion and the “frustration-led” speeding that often causes urban crashes. D. Vehicle Scrappage and Safety Norms Strengthening the National Road Safety Board to have autonomous power over vehicle safety standards, ensuring that even entry-level vehicles meet global crash-test benchmarks. E. Post-Crash Care Standardizing emergency response. Every 50 km on national highways should have a trauma-ready ambulance linked to a central GPS dispatch system to maximize survival rates.

The rest of the story is atrocities created by dreaded evil Nalla Naggapa using his International terrorist links especially Muslim Jihadi groups to become C.M and politically establish his family and how Pawan Kalyan decimates his plans to protect his teacher K.S Ravi Kumar and the society from such evil demons.
The story runs partly in flashback and partly in its current state,In first half Rao Ramesh as timber dealer did an okay job, Rashi Khanna has nothing much to perform other than being used as a bait to lure Nalla Naggapa gang members into the forest.
Pawan Kalyan and Sree Leela episode in flashback is made with all cinematic liberties to show Vintage Pawan Kalyan dances, fights and romance.
K.S.Ravi Kumar performed well in his role as a Teacher, later as C.M and his journey with Pawan Kalyan.Gautami,Chamak Chandra,Prabhas, Satyam Rajesh did well in supporting roles.
The film may get criticized for preaching Hindu Dharma and showing muslims as Jihadi terrorists.Unlike Gabbar Singh the entertainment quotient in terms of songs and comedy are minimal, other than mindless gun fights and violence.
Over-hyped Pawan Kalyan full fledged dances in the film are okay , Collar Ey Ethara by Ram Miryala was the saving grace. It’s much better if less talked about music and noisy background score in the same tone throughout the film.
For the general audience it’s an average entertainer with outdated storyline, Pawan Kalyan fans may like the film to see Vintage Pawan Kalyan of the 90s era with his fights, mannerisms and looks.
Director Harish Shankar still not finding his luck in rehashing/remaking/rewriting successful Hindi, Tamil film templates.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s much-awaited pan-India sports drama Peddi is gearing up for its grand worldwide release on April 30th, and the momentum around the film has climbed even higher thanks to a special visitor on set, Indian cricketer Tilak Varma who’s part of T20 World Cup winning team.
Still riding the high of India’s global triumph, Tilak Varma dropped by the Peddi shooting location, turning an otherwise intense filming day into a celebratory moment for the entire team. The young cricket star was welcomed with warmth as he toured the sets and witnessed some of the film’s high-voltage sports portions being shot.
Tilak Varma was deeply impressed not just by the action but also by the emotional weight packed into the sequences. His reaction reportedly reinforced the team’s confidence that Peddi is on track to deliver a sports narrative rooted in authenticity, grit, and strong human drama.
Meanwhile, Peddi itself is racing through its final schedule and post-production. Adding to the excitement, musical promotions are also climbing. The two songs- Chikiri Chikiri, and Rai Rai Raa Raa, composed by AR Rahman, received exceptional response.
The film brings together a strong cast with Janhvi Kapoor playing the leading lady. She is joined by senior actor Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani, all playing important parts in the story.
On the technical side, the movie is backed by some of the best in the industry. R Rathnavelu handles the camera work, Navin Nooli takes charge of editing, and Avinash Kolla designs the film’s massive and detailed sets. Their combined effort is helping Peddi shape up into a visually rich entertainer.
With promotions speeding up and the second song set to release tomorrow, the film is entering its final and most thrilling phase. Excitement is high as fans look forward to seeing Ram Charan in a completely new avatar, making Peddi one of the most awaited mass films of the year.

DOP Suriya Balaji said, “Sandeep and Vineet are bringing the film ‘Youth’ to Telugu audiences. To learn how to take a movie to the audience, one should watch Sandeep and Vineeth. Let’s watch ‘Youth’ in Tamil on the 19th of this month, and then watch it in Telugu on the 26th and make it a hit.”
Music director Sinjith Yerramilli said, “E2C is a place where we regularly chill; that’s the location in our Google Maps. Seeing that name on a poster today makes me happy. I sang a song in this film. Congratulations to Vineeth and Sandeep.”
Director Sai Marthand said, “We thought we would acquire the film ‘Youth’ ourselves, but meanwhile Vineet and Sandeep took it. Ken is a versatile person. Acting, writing, lyrics, singing, he does everything at a top-class level. He felt like our Mouli to me. The trailer of this film is very good, the songs are good. Sinjith sang a song. We even thought of casting Meenakshi from this film as the heroine in ‘Little Hearts.’ I request all of you to watch ‘Youth’ in theaters; it will be very good.”
Actor Mouli Tanuj said, “The teaser of ‘Youth’ is very good. I watched the entire film. It is a completely entertaining movie. Our Telugu audience will like it very much. The content of ‘Youth’ is very good. The song sung by Ken was instantly liked by everyone. If we like a movie, we watch it regardless of language. Let’s support this ‘Youth’ movie as well.”
Director Gopinath Reddy said, “When the Tamil teaser and songs of ‘Youth’ were released, we thought this film would definitely become a blockbuster. I wish this film becomes a success that takes them one step higher.”
Director Ravikiran Kola said, “All the people who worked on ‘Youth’ are below 25 years of age. At this age, standing as everything for a film is not a small matter. Usually we ask people to support such young teams, but this movie’s content is not like that, it is at another level. It feels like the film will definitely be a success. From the time of our film ‘Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru,’ Vineeth and Sandeep have been doing Housefull digital promotions. I wish them success as producers with this film under the E2C banner.”

Director Venkatesh Maha said, “In earlier times, youth films like ‘Chitram’ used to receive great appreciation. In between, such youth films decreased. Recently, with ‘Little Hearts,’ that trend started again. Now I hope ‘Youth’ will take that trend forward even more. All the best to Sandeep and Vineeth.”
Director Vassishta said, “When I saw the teaser and songs of ‘Youth,’ I became curious about who would bring this film into Telugu. Vineeth and Sandeep said they were taking it. They showed me the movie; I liked it very much. Ken handled this film like a one-man show. He gave credit as ‘Ken and Gang,’ which means he gave credit to everyone who worked on the film. At the end, he dedicated the film to all parents, you will understand why when you watch the film. Suraj stood like a hero for this film with his performance. Telugu audiences will support Ken. I wish Housefull gets housefull collections with this film.”
Actor and director Ken Karunas said, “In today’s times, getting support for a small film itself is a big thing. We came here from Chennai. Thanks for the love and support you are showing us. While making this film, we had fears and doubts about how audiences would receive it and whether business would happen or not. At that time, ‘Little Hearts’ released and became a success; that gave us confidence. We thank the ‘Little Hearts’ team. Because of DOP Surya anna, our film is releasing in Telugu. I worked as an assistant director for the film ‘Sir.’ Thanks to Sandeep and Vineet for trusting us and releasing ‘Youth’ in Telugu. Watch ‘Youth’ in theaters on the 26th, you will forget all the stress in your life and think once again about your parents. Our film belongs to the genre of entertainment and is a star that will bring youth to theaters.”
