With remunerations soaring into hundreds of crores, cinema has transformed into a massive gamble like never before. In a scenario where heroes and directors are taking home hundreds of crores in remuneration, others working on those films are also drastically increasing their rates. Consequently, Indian film production today is becoming prohibitively expensive.
Especially regarding Allu Arjun’s next film, it’s understood that a remuneration dispute is ongoing. It’s because of this dispute that the Atlee film, which was canceled after much commotion, has now come to Allu Arjun.
Sun Pictures, which had given the green light to a Salman Khan-Atlee combination film, backed out when the budget reached 500 crores. They said it would be okay if it included Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan along with Salman, but otherwise, it would be canceled.
Consequently, Pushparaj replaced Salman. Leaving aside for a moment how a subject suited for Salman would work for Pushparaj, it’s reported that a remuneration dispute has started here as well. If Bunny is paid 200 crores (even if not 300), Atlee 100 crores, and another hundred crores is needed for the rest of the cast and crew, discussions are happening vigorously about whether it’s possible to make the film, publicize it, and bring it to the audience with the remaining hundred crores. Without realizing that every film cannot be a “Pushpa” or a “Jawan,” no one understands these hundreds of crores in remunerations.
It’s noteworthy to remember that Atlee, who delivered a blockbuster with “Jawan,” also remade his Tamil and Telugu hit film “Theri/Police” in Hindi with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh, which resulted in a disastrous outcome!
