Don’t act in unethical advertisements
CPI Narayana’s advice to the film industry

0

New Delhi: CPI National Secretary Dr. K. Narayana advised the film industry not to give advertisements for betting apps that ruin the youth and businesses that spoil the society for the sake of earning money.
He suggested that the sacred art should be used only in ways that benefit the development of the society.

Narayana responded to the issue of Madhapur and Punjagutta police in Hyderabad registering cases against some film celebrities who promoted betting apps.

Speaking at a media conference held at Andhra Bhavan in Delhi, Narayana strongly condemned the unethical acts of using the fame gained through the film industry for the sake of earning money.
He criticized that the lives of the youth are being ruined by promoting betting apps. He recalled that in the past, people like Alluri Ramalingaiah used art for the development of the society.

He expressed anger at the fact that even those who have a proper income in the film industry are acting in many unethical advertisements that mislead the society for the sake of earning more money.
He condemned the statements of one who said that they promoted betting apps without their knowledge and another who said that they did it because it was legally permissible. He said that people easily believe and are severely affected by the things you act in and promote because of your popularity. He made it clear that it is a crime to promote betting apps even though thousands of youth are falling prey to them. He opined that the government should take strict action on this matter.
He mentioned that they are harming the society by acting in advertisements for gutka, pan masala, real estate that runs in wrong ways, and fraudulent gold businesses.

He recalled that when he made comments while advertising for Coca Cola company in the past, film hero Chiranjeevi responded and announced that he would not do such ads in the future.
He stated that there are many loopholes in the laws. He said that the President of America, Trump, openly stated that he is escaping from many cases based on the loopholes in the law.
He mentioned that there was a time when a judge ruled that gutka is also a food item in our country. However, he made it clear that morality is more important than law and money.

He stated that the film industry should stay away from all kinds of business advertisements that harm the society from now on.
