Veekshanam” is a film starring Ram Karthik and Kashvi as the lead pair. The movie is produced by P. Padmanabha Reddy and Ashok Reddy under the banner of Padmanabha Cine Arts. Directed by Manoj Palleti, “Veekshanam” is a comedy-mystery thriller that had a grand theatrical release on the 18th of this month. Story

Arvin (Ram Karthik), who lives in a gated community in Hyderabad, has a habit of using binoculars to observe what is happening in the neighboring houses around his home. One day, while watching with his friend, he falls in love with Neha (Kashvi). With the help of his friend, he makes several attempts to win her heart, and eventually, she falls in love with him. During an argument with her, he continues his habit of observing another house and notices that a girl is bringing a different man to her home every day. Initially, he doesn’t take it seriously, but later, he starts to focus on her, suspecting that she’s involved in some serious crime. When he tries to track her down, he discovers that she died eight months ago. So, how is a girl who has been dead for eight months committing murders? Did Arvin, along with his friend Chichi and brother-in-law (Shining Phani), really see the truth? Who is behind the murders? Why are the murders happening? To find out, you need to watch the movie.

Actors Performances

Coming to the performances, Ram Karthik fit well into the role of the hero. He perfectly portrayed the character of an average guy who is curious about the lives of his neighbors. Kashvi, as the heroine, impressed by balancing both glamour and her own unique acting style. She also showcased her experience as a child artist in this film. However, Bindu Nuthakki, who played another key role in the film, got a good opportunity with this character. Her performance as the girl who died was impressive. Shining Phani tried to make the audience laugh in every scene he appeared in and mostly succeeded in entertaining them. The other actors performed well within their respective roles.

Technical team

Regarding the technical team, the music director Samarth Gollapudi showcased his talent in elevating the film to a different level. In fact, the background score is the lifeblood of thriller films. Samarth Gollapudi provided an amazing background score that further elevated the movie. The songs he composed also captured the audience’s attention. Especially, the song “Ennenenno” sung by Sid Sriram, along with the “Veekshanam” song, were very catchy. Even in his second film, Samarth Gollapudi displayed a lot of maturity in his music. In short, if Ram Karthik is the hero of the film, there is no doubt that Samarth Gollapudi is the hero in technical aspects.

The cinematography also played a crucial role in carrying the overall mood of the film. The cameraman’s skills were evident, especially while showcasing certain thrilling elements. The fight sequences in the movie felt unique, and the fight design was good. The production values were also commendable.

Analysis

Victory Venkatesh says that the hardest job in this world is taking care of our own work, and director Manoj took that idea to write this story. From the beginning of the film, he crafted each scene in a way that connects with the audience. The hero, who tries to find out what is happening in the life of his neighbor, faces numerous challenges as part of that effort. What are these challenges? How does he overcome them after facing these difficulties? The director beautifully maintains suspense while making it unclear to the audience what will happen next. In fact, in many recent films, audiences easily predict what happens afterward. However, the director took care to avoid that in this film.

In the first half, the hero falls in love with the heroine, then they have conflicts, and the hero learns about another girl who has died—these elements make the interval block quite gripping. After the interval, the hero’s attempt, along with his group of friends, to discover how the deceased girl is committing murders is interesting. Notably, the climax leads to the second part in a way that is different from the routine. It’s hard to believe this is the director’s first film. He successfully engaged the audience to that extent. In many places, he gets full marks for driving the story in a way that surprises the viewers. The way he presents his point clearly and addresses a pressing issue still plaguing society is thought-provoking and demonstrates the director’s success.

Veekshanam is an out-and-out engaging thriller.
